Consumers and Farmers
There are many reasons why we, the consumers, should support our local farmers & producers

Consider:

  • Purchasing from your local farmers & producers keeps the money in the local community – continued spending by the farmers & producers in the local community multiplies the positive effect in the economy supporting small business and employment – Your Family, neighbours & friends
  • Smaller / local farms are more likely to have sustainable / regenerative practices in place to look after the soil / environment for generations to come. Most larger commercial agricultural services are more likely to be focused on the end product – quick result and at minimal cost resulting in products aided by chemicals & pesticides. As the health of the soil deteriorates the need for chemicals & pesticides accelerates.
  •  Products raised on healthy soils, sustainable & regenerative practices are more nutritious for you and your family
  •  The smaller local farmers have already made a personal & financial commitment to the community, the environment and the livestock in establishing their responsible business. We the consumers need to support and encourage their efforts by supporting them with product purchases. Get to know your local farmer for an ongoing relationship that will benefit all.

Remember -
95% of what we eat comes from the soil as it is grown for human consumption or grown to feed the stock

The Sourced Club platform is purpose driven to link the Farmers social network pages with the community to aid this connectivity in a manner that is efficient, user friendly and available 24/7.

We set some goals when we developed the platform and we would like to share them with you:

  1. The platform has to have no barriers that would discourage participation. Instrumental in this is that participation (search & listing) is totally free to all parties Consumers, Farmers, Producers, Distributors, Wholesalers and Retailers.   We are always asked “what is in it for you”  As the developers we understand the platform and interaction of social media and will make contact with some participants offering opportunities to increase their reach with additional product options such as Blog pages. We can assist with development and offer guidance or involvement  for ongoing services depending on the skills that may or may not be available within their business.
  2. Information to be available on Desktop, Tablet or Mobile with mapping capability to provide distance to plate or directions
  3. There is no opportunity to review the business on this platform as is available on Facebook. Many of these reviews are subjective. A business shows their support of another business by adding them to the network
  4. Operators attending different retail or market outlets have the opportunity to review or personalise their comments for each outlet.

Consumers and Farmers at the Farmers Markets

Many Farmers & Producers meet with Consumers and Retailers at local Farmers Markets.

This is an ideal network to connect consumers with the local farmers who regularly attend. The landing page provides opportunity to view their business, be aware of the products they regularly have and make contact to enquire or place an order in advance.

Your contact and support will encourage them to continue with their commitment. Like all things in life you get what you pay for and food is no different. There will be a higher cost for nutritious products that are good for you, your family and the community. Even if you can only start with a few good products – a balanced approach will still make a difference.

We all know local suppliers, maybe the Hair Salon, Liquor outlet or Entertainment venue and pay a little more to get what we want. Now is the time to get to know your local producers and purchase with the confidence you are providing nutrition for your family and the local community.
